Chapter 1099 - 571: Extra Story: You Left Claud Laurence Behind and Came Running Because I Was Hurt? (Part 2)

Alice Robinson’s nose tingled with emotion for Claud Laurence’s every act of tolerance and affection."Okay... I’ll wait at home obediently for you to come back."

"Mm."

Alice took the initiative to give Claud Laurence a peck on the cheek.

As soon as she got out of the car, watching Claud Laurence depart, Alice turned and rushed into Victoria Hospital.

Upon seeing Keith Antony, Alice hurriedly stepped forward and asked, "Where is my brother?"

Keith Antony’s expression was somewhat awkward, and he glanced towards the ward.

Alice turned her head to look at the ward, momentarily stunned.

She saw Chester Robinson seated on a chair inside the ward, with the doctor bandaging his right hand.

He seemed to have injured his right hand, though it wasn’t serious, as he could still move it and the doctor was only using a simple disinfectant.

Nervous, Alice gradually loosened her grip on Keith Antony’s hand and looked at him with a reproachful gaze.

Keith Antony hung his head low, as if he didn’t dare to face Alice.

Alice sighed in frustration, "Assistant Antony..." She wanted to scold him but held back.

Keith Antony’s head hung even lower.

Alice took out her phone to check the time and found it was still early enough. She was about to call Claud Laurence to ask him to come pick her up, when suddenly a soft voice came from behind, "Since you came, why are you in a hurry to leave?"

Alice’s body stiffened, feeling two intense gazes from behind her, but she didn’t turn around.

His footsteps drew closer to her.

The next moment, he stood tall and imposing right in front of her.

She loved him a full head taller, giving him a constant sense of superiority when facing her.

Alice didn’t look up at him, only saying coldly, "Keith Antony called and told me you were in the hospital, and it seemed serious... But it looks like Keith’s words can’t be fully trusted."

The bodyguards prevented outsiders from passing through the corridor, and Keith Antony had already quietly retreated, so in the not-so-spacious hospital corridor, only Chester Robinson and Alice were left.

Because of the bodyguards’ barrier, their conversations at this moment wouldn’t be overheard by any lover.

Chester smiled, gently lifting Alice’s pretty chin, "I heard I was hurt, and you left Claud Laurence to come?"

He smiled radiantly, seemingly very satisfied with this.

But Alice found his smile arrogant, making her annoyed.

"I just didn’t want Claud to suspect anything... If something happens to my brother, there’s no reason for the sister not to come and see."

"Is that so?"

He gazed at her intently, as if trying to see through her thoughts.

Alice pushed him away, taking out her phone and dialing Claud Laurence’s number as she walked towards the elevator.

But just as she was about to connect with Claud Laurence, her phone was suddenly snatched from her.

Alice frowned and turned around, seeing the phone now in Chester’s hand and his expression dark as a devil in the night.

Alice rarely saw Chester look like this.

Three years ago, she didn’t even know her always gentle brother harbored such a dark side.

She was a little scared, not understanding what he wanted to do by putting on such a face.

"Give me back my phone," she said angrily.

Chester casually tossed the phone into a trash bin outside the ward, "It’s probably dismantled by now."

Alice angrily stepped forward, "What madness are you on about?"

Chester grabbed Alice’s clenched fist aimed at his chest, his gaze deep, "Separated from Claud Laurence for just a few days, and you can’t bear it."

"Yes."

Chester sneered, releasing Alice, "Women should learn to be reserved, not throw themselves at someone like you do."

His words were always harsh.

Luckily, she was no longer able to get angry.

Turning coldly, Alice decided not to pay him any more attention.

Sprinting all the way to the hospital’s front desk, she found a public phone and quickly dialed Claud Laurence, only to find his phone had been turned off.

Alice irritably hung up the phone, casting a reproachful glance back at Keith Antony.

Keith Antony kept his head low, silently following behind Chester Robinson.

All of Alice’s disappointment and frustration fell into Chester’s deep, dark eyes.

Alice dejectedly sat on a family members’ rest chair, biting her lip helplessly.

"Want to go find him?"

Chester came before Alice, his voice much softer than before.

Alice turned her face away, unwilling to look at him.

"I’ll let Keith take you there now, maybe you can still catch him at the airport."

Alice stood up with a stern face, "I don’t need your hypocrisy."

Chester said nothing, turning to leave.
