Chapter 767: Did You Touch Her?
Chapter 767: Did You Touch Her?
The once long-abandoned courtyard was somehow filled with flowers and plants. A garden of beauty, all her favorite flowers, and standing before it was the navy figure, who had appeared in her dreams countless times. In the dreams, he embraced her deeply, telling her to wait for him, promising he would return.
Every time she woke from the dream, it was met by Cole O’Connell’s dark, angry eyes.
"Nathan?" Yulia O’Connell gazed at the navy figure ahead, her lips dry, as if she were still in a dream,
The navy figure turned around, his stunning face timeless, filled with deep emotion, Nathan Knight turned back, his handsome face as arresting as it was years ago.
"Little Jade, I’m back," Nathan Knight spread his arms wide.
Yulia O’Connell rushed into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his strong waist. "Nathan, why didn’t you tell me you weren’t really dead? Why didn’t you tell me anything all these years?"
She had always thought he had died under Cole O’Connell’s gun years ago,
Nathan Knight curled his lips, his large hands gently stroking her long hair as he looked at the girl in his arms, "You’ve gotten thinner."
The only solace he found was that he was back, and she was still unchanged, still loving to hug him.
"Nathan, does anyone know you’ve returned to the country?" Yulia O’Connell raised her head in a panic. "Will my brother find out?"
Though he used someone else’s name, the incident from years ago still left her with lingering fear.
Nathan Knight bowed his head, wrapping her even tighter in his arms, one hand caressing her still mesmerizing face. "Don’t be afraid. If I dared to come, then this time I definitely won’t let you go. Jade, come with me. I nearly died here years ago for you, and now I’ve returned for you. So, shall we go? To a place he can’t find us."
Before she came, Yulia O’Connell hadn’t considered leaving with Nathan Knight. She feared Cole O’Connell’s anger, feared being caught and Nathan dying once more.
Seeing her hesitation with his own eyes, Nathan Knight appeared worn and wounded as he gazed at her, "You’ve changed. You used to never hesitate."
"No, Nathan, I..."
"Come with me," Nathan Knight grabbed her arm, pulling her with large strides toward the outside. "I can’t be sure if he will find this place because of you, but we must leave now."
"Bang!" The rusty iron door was kicked open.
Yulia O’Connell was startled, immediately protecting Nathan Knight behind her, meeting the amber eyes that seemed indifferent yet filled with despair.
"Cole O’Connell"
"Yulia O’Connell, you’re getting bolder. Was the previous lesson not enough, or am I not satisfying you in bed, so you need another man to solve your thirst?"
The emotionless voice felt like a shroud of darkness invisibly tightening around Yulia O’Connell’s neck, suffocating her.
Her face turned somewhat pale, tinged with shame.
"Cole O’Connell, did you touch her?" The veins in Nathan Knight’s neck throbbed, his large hand clenched into a fist; a man’s focus would always remain on the same point.
Cole O’Connell lifted his brow, his left hand slipping into his trouser pocket. His British coat stirred in the wind, and the cigarette in his right hand was nearly burned out, indicating he had been waiting here for a while, just waiting for them to come out.
