Chapter 291: Everyone Came
Chapter 291: Everyone Came
Master Watson left just like that, leaving Richard with the two women.
"Brother Richard, it won’t be long before the World of Death opens. I’ll personally lead our younger members—how about we head to our gathering point now?" Carla said.
"Sure..." Richard nodded, pulling up his hood again, concealing his face with the aura of the robe.
"Elena, thank you..." he didn’t forget to express his gratitude.
"I only carried out my uncle’s request," Elena replied softly.
Richard said nothing more and followed Carla.
As dawn approached, more people began to arrive. Major factions from the Central Region descended with imposing auras.
Although no single faction there had produced three Grand Sovereigns, many had produced one or two.
This was because the geniuses of that region were spread across too many factions.
Overall, the number of geniuses who became Grand Sovereigns from the Central Region far exceeded those from the Eastern Region.
When several factions formed alliances—along with the presence of the Order of the Crimson Veil—they weren’t even afraid of the Order of Heaven Emperor.
They also had Magi capable of rivaling figures like the Sword Master, Hammer Master, or the Crimson Grand Ancestor.
The Thundervale Clan arrived with an especially domineering presence.
They weren’t alone—they came together with several factions forming an alliance to support Sean Thundervale.
Their alliance consisted of seven factions—three of which had produced two Grand Sovereigns.
With such strength, they truly had the confidence to fear no one in the world.
The entrance to the World of Death seemed to be in this city.
Following Carla, Richard found that the younger members of the Order of the Crimson Veil had gathered in a garden.
He spotted familiar faces—Luke, Liam (Ethan Holystar’s disciple), and even Prince Charles.
The latter was the strongest among them, yet he couldn’t become the leader due to Carla’s overwhelming influence.
They were all surprised to see Carla arrive with a hooded figure.
"Miss, who is he?" Liam asked, narrowing his eyes at Richard.
If he knew this was the man who had once kicked him in the face, he definitely wouldn’t remain calm.
"Don’t ask," Carla replied coldly.
"In short, he’s my friend and will be joining us."
"He’s not a member?" Prince Charles frowned.
Naturally, many were displeased at the idea of an outsider joining them.
After all, it meant sharing potential gains.
"He’s not—but he’s my friend," Carla replied, clearly displeased by his tone.
If it were just any ordinary friend, she wouldn’t care so much.
But Richard wasn’t just anyone—he was the man she loved.
"If you don’t agree with me, then form your own team. Don’t follow me," she added, silencing the group.
There was a reason they followed her.
Because she had knowledge passed down from her grandfather.
For those in the Lord and Ruler Realms, following her meant access to the best locations to break their limits.
Only she knew those places.
Even elders would want to follow her if allowed.
"Miss Carla, you’ve become even more beautiful..." A soft voice suddenly came from behind.
Turning around, Richard saw Gray—white-haired, accompanied by several young men.
His eyes shone brightly as he looked at Carla, as if gazing at the most wonderful thing in the world.
Carla immediately frowned.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"Come on, you know my intentions..." Gray said with a smile.
"You should stop dreaming. You’ve never been on my list—and my list only contains one man."
"Richard? Why do you think he’s better?" Gray asked.
"It’s obvious he’s better than you—far beyond you. Weren’t you once just one of Brother Richard’s underlings?" Carla replied mockingly.
Her praise of Richard displeased several members of the Order, especially Prince Charles and Liam, who had grievances against him.
Meanwhile, Gray remained calm, unaffected.
"In this world, we don’t judge by beginnings—but by endings. Many Grand Sovereigns started from humble positions, yet became the brightest when the time came..." he said calmly.
"Hahaha, how funny..." Carla laughed.
"Do you know what our elders say? Among all geniuses competing to become Grand Sovereigns in the Land of Humans—you have the lowest chance. And yet you dare claim you’ll shine the brightest? Give me a year, and I’ll beat you myself."
Even such harsh ridicule didn’t shake Gray.
He kept smiling, as if others’ opinions meant nothing to him.
This only made others admire him more.
Such a mindset was exactly what was needed to achieve great ambition.
People began to understand how someone like Gray—once among the lowest-ranked in the Order—had risen into a true contender for Grand Sovereign.
"One day, Miss Carla, you will see me shine across the Eastern Region—and you will acknowledge me," he said briefly before leaving.
Carla only grew more annoyed.
She would have preferred if he had gotten angry—it would have given her a reason to beat him.
Rumble!
Suddenly, a massive ark descended from the sky, radiating an imposing brilliance.
It instantly drew everyone’s attention.
Only a few people stood atop it, all clad in white armor that exuded dominance.
The armor alone made them seem like invincible knights descending from the heavens.
"The Skylight Clan—they’ve arrived as well..." the people in the city murmured in shock.
The Skylight Clan was renowned throughout the entire Land of Humans.
They were only a single clan—yet three of their members had become Grand Sovereigns.
The most famous among them was the Skylight Grand Sovereign himself, one of the strongest, ranked within the top five.
No one doubted the strength of this clan.
Many even claimed they were slightly stronger than the Order of the Crimson Veil.
Their bloodline was extraordinary—none of their descendants lacked talent.
"Who are they?" people began to wonder.
Everyone aboard the ark wore armor that completely covered their faces.
However, one thing was clear—the leader was a woman, judging by the slender design of her armor.
"Perhaps that woman is Olivia Skylight. I heard that after wandering around, she returned to the Skylight Clan and received special training."
"That seems likely. I haven’t heard of any other prominent young woman from their clan in this era. It’s a pity Edward Skylight ran into trouble—otherwise, I’m certain he could have become their fourth Grand Sovereign."
"It doesn’t matter—they have an even better candidate."
"Who?"
"Hah, have you never heard the rumor? That Richard is actually a member of the Skylight Clan. The one who saved him when he was surrounded by the current Lord of the Crimson Veil was the White Ancestor of the Skylight Clan. That’s why the Order of the Crimson Veil stopped targeting him. These two factions are quite close. The White Ancestor and the Crimson Grand Ancestor are even friends."
