Chapter 540 - 512: Hot Spring Trip
(Additional Chapter for Vote)Simon Forrester turned back to look at her, a mysterious smile playing on his lips: "Two yukatas, two pajamas."
"Is that so?" Sienna Thornton picked up two of them and measured them against herself, "Then I’ll wear these two tonight!"
She finished packing the remaining clothes, laughing to herself: "Is this your first time buying clothes for me? And it’s pajamas and yukatas."
Simon Forrester checked everything, walked over to help her pack.
Seeing the two brightly colored, thin yukatas she laid aside, he picked one up, feeling it with his fingers, and asked, "Do you like it?"
Sienna Thornton leaned in and kissed him on the cheek: "As long as you bought it, I like it."
Simon Forrester thought she might have forgotten what she told him in Lumeria. Seeing her looking so silly yet lovely, he felt a mix of amusement and anticipation for the night to come.
.
The guesthouse had a restaurant that served authentic and common Japanese dishes, like sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, and oden.
Since Simon Forrester had taken Sienna Thornton to eat authentic Japanese food many times, she wasn’t very curious about it anymore, showing little interest in most of it, except for the hot spring eggs.
Seeing her eat three or four in a row, Simon Forrester worried she might have trouble digesting them, and pushed a bowl of miso soup in front of her: "Have some soup, don’t eat any more eggs, or your stomach might not feel good later."
At his words, Sienna Thornton stopped eating, but there was still half an egg in her bowl, so she pushed the bowl to him: "Don’t waste it, you eat it."
Simon Forrester, without a word, ate the half hot spring egg she had eaten.
She sat there watching him eat, perhaps out of boredom, and teased him with a laugh: "What’s it like eating someone else’s saliva?"
Simon Forrester was chewing the yolk, his lips closed, his jaw moving rhythmically, watching her with a half-smile.
Even during a meal, he carried an air of restraint on his face.
She loved watching him eat in such a serious manner, and now she rested her chin on her hand, her big eyes blinking at him.
Knowing he didn’t like to talk when eating, she wanted to tease him even more: "When I was little, the elders in our village said that eating someone’s saliva means you have to cherish them."
Simon Forrester swallowed the hot spring egg, took a sip of tea, and slowly wiped his mouth before glancing at her, saying lightly: "You believe in such pseudoscience? And you’re still a doctor?"
Sienna Thornton protested: "How is it pseudoscience? It’s pretty accurate."
Simon Forrester retorted: "Can the old lady who said that even read?"
Sienna Thornton shook her head.
Simon Forrester laughed: "There you go, you believe something made up by illiterate old ladies?"
Sienna Thornton: "..."
Unsatisfied, she asked: "Then tell me, do you cherish me?"
Simon Forrester squinted at her: "You can ask your own conscience."
Sienna Thornton: "..."
She knew it, once Simon Forrester set his mind on teasing her, she’d never win! She could win against anyone else in the world, just not him!
Frustrated yet amused, she picked up her chopsticks and tapped Simon Forrester’s arm: "You even want to win against your wife? You don’t give a girl any leeway, how did you even get a girlfriend back then?"
Simon Forrester caught her hand, his thumb rubbing the inside of her arm, smiling with deep meaning: "You should ask yourself, what do you see in me?"
...
To allow guests to appreciate the beauty of Mount Fuji, the front of the guesthouse’s yard was completely unobstructed, offering a view of the shimmering Lake Rivenport and Mount Fuji in the distance.
The sun was setting, a fiery orange glow slanting over the lake’s surface, also bathing Mount Fuji in the distance.
Simon Forrester held Sienna Thornton in his arms, the hot spring water reaching up to their shoulder blades, occasionally a chill spring breeze blowing by, creeping through the pores on their necks and faces, while their bodies were enveloped in the warm spring water.
Such a mix of ice and fire felt truly extraordinary, almost like a rebirth.
Noticing her husband being rather quiet today, Sienna Thornton nestled closer to him, wrapping her arms around his waist, softly asking: "Why aren’t you talking?"
Simon Forrester snapped back to reality, lowering his gaze to her, his eyes lingering on her flushed cheeks.
The hot spring water suddenly rippled, several clear splashes followed, his large hand cupped the back of her head, and he leaned down to kiss her...
***Hot Spring Theater***
On the sixth day in Yorai, Candy Sheridan’s plan originally included visiting the Holy Temple and Lesser Imperial Shrine, but both of them had been too indulgent the previous night and didn’t fall asleep until nearly dawn, so the entire itinerary was postponed by a day.
In the afternoon, they got up, strolled near Lake Rivenport, enjoyed the breeze, and took some photos. In the evening, they soaked in the hot spring and chatted again.
The next day, they made up the missed visit to the Holy Temple and Lesser Imperial Shrine, marking the end of their schedule at Fuji.
They left the last two days in Yorai for Higashi, visiting Sensō-ji Temple and Higashi Tower, spending the last day shopping in the Silvera District, and departed for Brimfield on the 27th.
On the plane back, Sienna Thornton, still longing for more, said she would like to visit Yorai again at the end of the year if possible. Compared to the vastness and freedom of Europe, she preferred the warmth and unique charm of Yorai.
She chatted on, only to realize that Simon Forrester wasn’t responding, propping his chin with his hand as if lost in heavy thoughts.
Suddenly remembering that he had moments like this in recent days, she inexplicably recalled his unusual behavior in Nankai that night.
She had asked him once, and he brushed it off as nothing serious, but later he suddenly questioned her about whether she would seek another man if he left one day.
The more Sienna Thornton thought about it, the more worried she became, instinctively feeling that Simon Forrester might have had an issue with his health check, hence his unusual behavior.
Recalling various posts on Zhihu about young people diagnosed with incurable diseases, she broke out in a cold sweat, her face turning pale as she patted his hand.
He snapped back, looking at her: "Hmm? What were you saying?"
"Husband..." she was about to cry, her eyes red as she looked at him, "Are you sick?"
