Chapter 638 - 609: Reluctant to Leave

Charles Quincy was absolutely amazed today. If she hadn’t known this was a real-life married couple, she would have thought they were actors on a reality show.

Auntie King whispered to Melinda Linton beside her, "You know, your son-in-law and Mr. Thorne are quite alike; they’re both so fond of their wives." One sentence complimented both Sienna Thornton and Melinda Linton.

Melinda Linton blushed and quietly said, "Thornton can be quite stubborn in private, and sometimes I get frustrated..."

Auntie King assumed it was just a happy annoyance and chuckled quietly.

The two of them took the baby to the living room, and Charles Quincy washed the bottle, all the while observing out of the corner of her eye the man who was eating breakfast while watching a tablet.

But this scrutiny lasted only a few seconds. Simon Forrester picked up a napkin, wiped his mouth, and went upstairs. A moment later, he came back down, already dressed in a formal dark suit.

He picked up his briefcase, went over to Auntie King, took the child in his arms, kissed him a few times, and was about to leave.

Auntie King held the baby and walked him out, accompanying him to the car, guiding the baby’s hand to wave goodbye.

The black Maybach with the impressive license plate drove out of the villa, the vintage bronze carved gates slowly closing.

Charles Quincy stood with arms crossed, gazing through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the black Mercedes disappearing from sight, lost in thought...

Auntie King came in holding the baby and, seeing her standing there, instantly guessed she had been watching Simon Forrester leave. She squinted but said nothing more; she simply mentioned as she passed by, "Shouldn’t you start training the baby?"

Charles Quincy snapped out of it and took the baby from Auntie King’s hands.

Auntie King followed them into the guest room.

...

Autumn to winter, time quickly flew by to December.

This year’s first snow in Brimfield was delayed again; even in early December, there was no sign of snowfall. The city smoothly transitioned from late autumn to early winter. The maple leaves on Fenmore Hill turned from fiery red to golden yellow, gently fluttering down and painting the entire hill gold.

Sienna Thornton had to take her team to Valois for a new round of negotiations on December 3rd. She would be gone for a week and started arranging the child’s feeding days in advance.

Considering all aspects, she suggested that Simon Forrester stay at The Springs Residences for the week. With Auntie King helping with the baby in the evening, he could go to work during the day, and Charles Quincy would assist in taking care of the baby at The Springs Residences.

Initially, Simon Forrester did not agree, saying he could manage the child alone at night without needing Auntie King’s help. Sienna Thornton insisted, and upon reflection, he seemed to understand her reasoning.

Indeed, Sienna Thornton had a fallback plan.

Though she trusted Simon Forrester, she did not trust Charles Quincy.

What if, by any chance, Simon Forrester was alone with the baby in the villa, and Charles Quincy knocked on the door at night? What then?

Simon Forrester surely wouldn’t open the door for Charles Quincy, but Sienna Thornton didn’t want her to have such an opportunity.

So, letting Simon Forrester and the baby stay at her family’s home was the safest and most secure option. With Quentin Thorne overseeing, no demons or monsters could enter.

Like all men, Simon Forrester didn’t enjoy staying at his in-laws’, especially not when his wife wasn’t around, and he had to stay there alone with the baby. But understanding Sienna Thornton’s intentions and to ease her worries, he happily agreed.

After arranging everything, Sienna Thornton confidently boarded the flight to Valois.

On the day of departure, Simon Forrester asked Gavin Gale to drive their family of three to the airport, carrying the child all the way to see her off.

She was in tears as she passed through security, constantly looking back at the father and son standing in place waving goodbye.

Since the child’s birth, she had not been apart from him for even a day.

This trip to Valois, she couldn’t bear to leave her child, nor could she bear to leave the child’s father.
