Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike

Chapter 688 - 659: His Love

Chapter 688 - 659: His Love

Simon Forrester took the suitcase to the second-floor bedroom, opened the windows for ventilation, and carefully checked every corner for any safety issues. When he went downstairs, Victor was drinking milk and reading a picture book, while Sienna Thornton was busy in the open kitchen.

He walked over, wrapped his arms around her waist, kissed her ear, and looked at the baby pasta she was preparing.

"Let’s go out for lunch and then see the flowers," he said.

She nodded, "I’ll make some pasta for our son first."

Victor hasn’t had any seasonings yet, so Sienna specifically brought baby pasta, dumplings, eggs, and pumpkin millet from home, planning for Victor to have pasta with steamed eggs for lunch, dumplings for dinner, and pumpkin millet porridge tomorrow morning.

While she was cooking pasta, Simon wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered.

"Remember the short cabinet behind the door?"

Her face turned red, and she whispered, "How could I forget..."

"So, tonight after the kid’s asleep?"

Her face turned even redder, and she moved her shoulder uncomfortably, "Go see what our son is doing..."

Simon turned his head to look, "Sitting on the sofa, drinking milk and reading a picture book."

"Then go accompany him to read the book."

Simon knew she was shy and didn’t tease her further, kissed her cheek, and went to accompany Victor to read the picture book.

...

After lunch, the family of three went to visit the South Bay Flower Fields. While admiring the flowers, Sienna taught Victor to identify colors, flowers, leaves, and trees. Integrating his learning into natural settings, he learned happily and effectively.

In the evening, they packed food from outside and returned to the homestay, planning for a family dinner.

Simon took Victor for a bath, while Sienna was in the kitchen preparing dinner for their son when she suddenly received a call from Maeve.

The explosive news almost made her dumplings fall to the ground.

.

Dumplings were steaming in the cooker as Sienna ran upstairs.

In the master bedroom, Simon was drying Victor after his bath.

Sienna exclaimed, "Maeve said she’s marrying Gage Grant next month!"

Simon listened without much reaction, glanced at his surprised wife, and laughed, "Earlier this year, Fourth Master Grant got a beating for wanting to marry Maeve. He fought for half a year and finally made it happen."

"You knew already? Why didn’t you tell me?"

"I didn’t tell you?" Simon played dumb, "Maybe I forgot, there was so much going on at the time."

Sienna patted her forehead, amused and frustrated.

At that moment, she realized her life was completely filled with work and family, to the extent she didn’t even know her best friend was in love.

Her feelings were complicated.

Knowing Maeve was getting married, she was happy. But knowing the groom was Gage Grant, she couldn’t be. Realizing she’d neglected her friend for years, she felt quite guilty.

As a result, she was absent-minded all evening.

Simon thought she was mad at him for not telling about Maeve and Gage’s situation, remembered he had something else hidden from her, and decided to discuss it with her that night.

Victor also sensed his mother’s odd mood, repeating during the meal, "Mama, you’re not talking."

Simon laughed, ruffled his son’s soft head, and said affectionately, "Kyle, don’t talk while eating, focus on your meal."

Victor then told Sienna again, "Mama be good, Kyle not good." After speaking, he focused on eating his dumplings without saying more.

After dinner, the family of three took a walk by the natural lake, returned to the villa at eight, and Sienna went for a bath while Simon put Victor to sleep.

When she came out of the bath, Victor was sleeping soundly on the bed. Simon tucked him in and, getting out of bed, picked her up by the waist and headed downstairs.

Startled, she kicked her feet and struggled, "What are you doing?"

Knowing him well, she guessed he planned to rekindle their past memories near the short cabinet.

However, Simon merely carried her to the living room, dimmed the main lights, leaving only the warm yellow wall lights on.

She was about to ask his intentions when he picked up his phone, pressed a few buttons, and the living room’s surround sound began to play a melodious tune.

He took her right hand, placed another hand gently on her back, and kissed her lightly.

She lifted her face to look at him, her bright, clear eyes just like when they first met.

"Shall we dance?" he asked.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, their bodies close, moving slowly and in sync with the music.

It was more like embracing and quietly savoring the beautiful night than dancing.

He occasionally kissed her, ran his fingers through her hair, while she held him tightly.

Initially, neither spoke, quietly savoring the beauty brought by the music’s melody, and reminiscing their six years of knowing and loving each other over and over.

"Candy," Simon suddenly called her softly.

"Hmm?"

"There’s actually another thing I’ve kept from you..."

"What is it?"

"That small apartment you had back then, I had it bought by someone. When there’s time, I’ll transfer it under your name."

Sienna didn’t quite understand. Before buying at The Springs Residences, she’d purchased two properties.

"Which one are you talking about?" she asked.

"The one near Vantage."

Sienna didn’t respond.

Simon thought she was upset, wanted to explain, but she suddenly asked, "So, you first failed to secretly buy the homestay and then bought the apartment I wanted to sell to pay my debts?"

"Yes."

Sienna was amused, "I wondered why that couple was so nice. After selling them the apartment, they suddenly said they were moving abroad and didn’t need it. When I asked to lease it back, they agreed straightforwardly."

She sighed, "I was really naive back then, completely in your grip."

He laughed, gently pinched the soft flesh on her waist, "What grip? That sounds harsh. It was all because I couldn’t bear to see you suffer."

She held him, their steps continued moving with the music.

"Rich people usually impress girls by spending lavishly. You, on the other hand, followed me around buying my properties, cleaning up my mess, and hiding things for years."

He chuckled, kissed her hair, and said powerlessly, "You were so hotheaded back then. If you’d known I bought your homestay, you’d have given me the cold shoulder and broken up. I couldn’t risk letting you know I also bought your apartment."

"Sigh..." she chuckled, "Why did you buy my apartment back then? It wasn’t good, an old neighborhood of twenty years, couldn’t appreciate in value, and I lost hundreds of thousands selling it after three years."

After she said that, she felt his steps pause, and she too stopped moving.

His hand that was around her waist slowly moved up along her side, finally cupping her face.

The man’s palm was rough yet warm.

She looked up at him, in the dim light, his expression was infinitely tender.

"Because that apartment witnessed our love, holding many precious and beautiful memories. When the child grows up, we’ll occasionally go back to live there. By then, I’ll tell you how much I love you..."
