The pilots of several small aircraft swarmed around Zhao Rong, maneuvering their planes to take aim at his flying car with their laser cannons.
When the three women and the assistant saw the other planes extend their weapons, preparing to shoot them out of the sky, they screamed in terror.
Lili cried out in fear, "At this altitude, if we get hit by a laser cannon and fall, all five of us, including this car, will be smashed to pieces!"
Yu Lan glared at the circling planes, gritting her teeth. "These pilots are horrible! We were just flying peacefully, not bothering or provoking them at all. Why are they aiming their laser cannons at us? And they want to shoot us down? Isn’t that pure banditry?"
Xuelian desperately tried to think of a solution. "Zhao Rong, hurry! Accelerate and get us out of here! Otherwise, those guys will definitely shoot us down!"
The assistant glanced through the window at the dizzying height. He imagined their flying car getting hit and plummeting, and the consequences were too terrifying to contemplate. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, and his eyes welled with tears as he looked at Zhao Rong. "What do we do?" he pleaded. "I don’t want to die like this... for no reason!"
As the pilots aimed their laser cannons at Zhao Rong’s car, they saw the terrified, near-tears expressions on the faces of the assistant and the three women. They burst into laughter, reveling in their victims’ pain. "You fools are at death’s door and you’re still chattering amongst yourselves," the leader sneered. "Now, I’ll send you to Western Heaven!"
The lead pilot then directed his accomplices, "Brothers, aim your laser cannons at that flying car. On my count... one, two, three... fire!"
Hearing their boss give the order, the surrounding pilots took aim and pressed their fire buttons. A volley of energy blasts erupted from the cannons, streaking toward Zhao Rong’s flying car. The airplane enthusiasts roared with laughter, eagerly waiting to see the vehicle get hit and plummet from the sky.
The man in the green plane laughed. "Last time we were up here, we ran into some wingsuit flyers. We didn’t like the look of them, so we used our laser cannons to injure them. They fell right out of the sky and were smashed to bits. What a thrill! Today, we find someone else in a flying car trying to compete with us for our turf. So now we’ll use the same method to shoot you down. We’re going to watch you get shattered to pieces, crying for your mommy and daddy!"
The pilot of the black plane cackled wildly. "The laser cannons on our planes are more powerful than anti-aircraft guns! Once we hit it, that flying car will be blasted into a pile of scrap metal!"
The leader in the blue plane, puffing on a cigar, boasted, "This airspace belongs to us, the small aircraft enthusiasts. Nobody should even think about trying to steal it from us! Anyone who dares to occupy our spot will be shot down by our laser cannons!"
Just as the pilots expected Zhao Rong’s vehicle to plummet from the sky, something astonishing happened. After being hit by the laser cannons, the car wasn’t damaged at all; in fact, it flew even faster.
Inside the flying car, the assistant and the three women had closed their eyes, bracing for death. To their amazement, they discovered that despite being hit by the lasers, the car was completely unaffected.
Lili ran her hands over the car’s interior. Finding it completely undamaged, she exclaimed in surprise, "No way! We were hit by such powerful cannons, yet our car is totally fine? How is that possible?"
Yu Lan was also stunned. She laughed and said, "Zhao Rong, did this Mercedes SUV turn into a bulletproof car when it grew wings? How else could it take a hit from those cannons without its shell being pierced?"
Xuelian asked, puzzled, "Zhao Rong, just tell us, how is this car bulletproof?"
Hearing their bewildered questions, Zhao Rong smiled and took out his phone. He pointed to the Paradise Shopping Cart app on the screen and explained, "You see, the moment I saw those guys getting ready to shoot, I opened the Paradise Shopping Cart and bought a bulletproof car cover. That’s what kept our car perfectly safe and sound."
"A bulletproof car cover?" Lili asked curiously. "You mean like one of those things you put on a car when you store it in a garage for a long time? That can stop laser blasts?"
Zhao Rong chuckled. "Of course, the one I bought is transparent, lightweight, and extremely practical."
When Yu Lan heard that the bulletproof cover was transparent, she was amazed. "Zhao Rong, everything you buy from the Paradise Shopping Cart is so magical, powerful, and high-tech!"
Zhao Rong grinned. "There are even more powerful things..."
As he spoke, he took out a pipe and put it in his mouth. Looking at the small planes flying outside the window, he said, "Now, I’m going to use this pipe to shoot down those high-speed planes."
When the assistant and the three women heard that Zhao Rong intended to shoot down speeding airplanes with a pipe he was holding in his mouth, they stared in disbelief. "Zhao Rong, are you kidding? How can a pipe shoot down an airplane? That’s the most ridiculous thing we’ve ever heard!"
