Chapter 17 Amusement Park
Chapter 17 Amusement Park
"What are you planning to play, Onii-chan?" Mina followed behind Li Yuan, stepping in his footprints one by one, as if playing some childish game.
She would occasionally step on Li Yuan's shadow, then make some exaggerated gestures while muttering something under her breath.
"I'm fine with either, they're all pretty much the same anyway," Li Yuan shrugged casually.
He actually felt that amusement parks were all pretty much the same – the machines running, the music playing loudly, the lines stretching endlessly, they were all essentially the same.
It mainly depends on who you come with.
He turned his head and glanced at Mina behind him, who was grinning foolishly and stepping on his own shadow. He silently added to himself: It's good to be with her.
Just thinking about being with Park Jin-young made Lee Won-kwang feel incredibly uncomfortable.
I reckon he'll just find a place to sit and rest, and won't want to move for even a second.
"Let's go ride the carousel!" Mina said, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the carousel in the distance. "That looks really interesting."
In Japanese dramas, carousels are often used as classic scenes for romantic dates—for example, the "carousel kiss" in the movie "I Only Want to Hug You" is hailed as one of the most romantic kissing scenes in Japanese films in recent years.
Although Mina didn't say it explicitly, the image involuntarily appeared in her mind: lights, music, a carousel, and...
"That's not very interesting," Li Yuan shook his head, displaying the typical cluelessness of a straight man. "I feel like riding a real horse would be more fun."
These slow-paced, spinning amusement rides are really not his cup of tea.
"How about the Ferris wheel?" Mina asked, undeterred, pointing to the towering Ferris wheel in the distance.
Riding a Ferris wheel with someone you love and slowly ascending to the highest point symbolizes reaching the pinnacle of happiness. The Ferris wheel is round, without beginning or end, signifying that love has no end.
Moreover, the enclosed cockpit provides excellent privacy, offering rare moments of solitude—hundreds of meters in the air, with only two people, the world outside the window becomes minuscule, while the person beside you becomes incredibly clear…
Mina silently conjured up some images in her mind, but on the surface, she remained calm and just stared longingly at Li Yuan.
"But this Ferris wheel cabin can only seat two people, right?" Zhou Ziyu looked closely at the Ferris wheel cabin and asked hesitantly, "Does Brother Li Yuan want to sit in one by himself?"
She subconsciously felt that she should sit in the same cabin as Mina—they couldn't sit with strangers, could they? Wouldn't that be tantamount to exposing themselves?
"I..." Mina opened her mouth, wanting to say that she actually wanted to be with Lee Won, but looking at Tzuyu's innocent big eyes, she swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue. "Yeah, let's play something else then."
"How about we ride a roller coaster?" Li Yuan suggested.
"No!" Mina refused without even thinking.
The little penguin, who is afraid of heights and danger, would never touch such a dangerous amusement park ride.
"That giant swing?" Li Yuan pointed to the giant swing not far away.
Even from this distance, you can still hear the heart-wrenching screams coming from above.
"No!" Mina shook her head again.
"So what do you want to play?" Li Yuan started to give up.
"Anything is fine with me," Mina blinked, her expression innocent.
"What about the drop tower?"
"Onii-chan!" Mina blushed slightly.
This Li Yuan, even though he knows she's scared, keeps talking about these dangerous projects, deliberately trying to make a fool of her!
Even though her voice was warm, it was still not loud, and to outsiders it sounded like she was just being coquettish.
"Alright, alright." Seeing that she was really getting anxious, Li Yuan smiled and said, "Let's go play bumper cars. It'll be a good way for you to relax and let off some steam."
It's really fun to tease Mina.
"Okay." Mina nodded, a smile returning to her face, then held up one finger. "Then you're not allowed to bump into me!"
"What do you mean? Why can't I hit you?" Li Yuan's eyes widened. "What if you hit me?"
"That won't do either!"
"What kind of unfair contract is this?"
"No matter what, it won't work!" Mina started to act unreasonably.
"If you weren't a patient..."
The three walked towards the bumper car area.
After playing for nearly half an hour, the scene became quite chaotic at one point—for the first twenty minutes, Mina was constantly chasing and bumping into Li Yuan, laughing uproariously every time she bumped into him.
Li Yuan couldn't take it anymore and started to fight back. As a result, Mina immediately called Zhou Ziyu, and the two of them joined forces to attack him.
"I mean, is this really fun?" When it was time to leave, Li Yuan got out of the car, looking speechless.
The feeling of being surrounded was very powerless, not to mention that the car wasn't very powerful, so his counterattack seemed weak.
"That's interesting!" Mina's smile was bright. "Tzuyu, is it interesting?"
"Mmm!" Chou Tzu-yu nodded excitedly.
She hadn't been to an amusement park in a long time. Since her debut, the number of times she could have such carefree fun had become extremely rare.
The last time we came to the amusement park was to film a group variety show. At that time, we had to cooperate with the camera and complete game tasks. We were really happy, but we were also really tired. We didn't enjoy it at all.
The real relaxation is having no cameras, no task cards, no need to worry about image management, and being able to laugh and shout as you please.
"When I go to Korea, I'll ask Park Jin-young to give you a few days off," Lee Won said, unable to resist looking at the complicated expressions on their faces.
Of course he knows how tiring and arduous the idol profession is—getting up in the early morning to do makeup, not being able to return to the dormitory to rest until late at night, having one schedule after another, and not even having the right to get sick.
This is also why Lee Won refused when Lee Soo-man and Park Jin-young wanted him to debut in their company.
It's worth noting that Park Jin-young offered very generous terms: Lee Won was free to choose trainees from the company to form a group, and could even serve as the leader, making most of the group's decisions independently.
Being the captain is a minor matter, because in JYP, or even in the entire K-pop scene, being the captain has never been an easy job. It comes with a lot of responsibility, pressure, and criticism.
But the ability to "decide on most things independently" is a real power.
However, Li Yuan still refused.
Why would someone be so bored and stay up all night to become an idol? If they don't perform well, they get criticized by haters; if they perform well, they get criticized by their teammates' fans. Isn't that just asking for trouble?
Besides, my family isn't short of money, so there's no need for me to suffer like this.
