Chapter 1263 - 1260: Gone All Night
"Are you trying to kick your husband out?""Eva, aren’t we supposed to sleep together?"
"Sleep your damn big-headed ghost!" Eva Nightingale grabbed whatever was at hand and hurled it straight at Liam Coldwell.
He didn’t even dodge. Getting hit didn’t hurt anyway, and even if it did, he still wouldn’t move.
"Alright, go to sleep. I won’t tease you anymore. Good night." Liam Coldwell looked at her. "It’s going to rain tonight, the air’s damp and a bit chilly, remember to pull the covers up. If you miss me... you can call me anytime to come warm your bed!"
Subordinates: "!!!"
Mr. President, where is your shame~?
But this isn’t how I hit on girls, right? Shouldn’t I be a bit more proactive, like a lot more proactive?
"What are you looking at? All of you, out." Liam Coldwell snapped coldly, and the few guards shrank back and tactfully retreated at once.
By the time he came back to himself, Eva Nightingale had long vanished from sight. She rushed nonstop up to a room on the second floor, took a quick shower, and got ready to sleep.
Liam Coldwell didn’t keep entangling her either. He knew very well that the best way to treat her was to take things step by step.
He took a shower, went out to the balcony to smoke for a while, and only came back to his room deep into the night when everything was quiet.

Shallow Water Bay was also a rich people’s neighborhood, the location absolutely prime. The roofs of the villas here were all lit up with colorful lights, romance pushed to the extreme.
A black limited-edition Rolls-Royce was parked by the roadside. A man’s pale hand was wrapped around the steering wheel, fumbling over it again and again.
The entire car was filled with a chill, the kind that seeped right into your bones.
Lucas Knight stared at the villa in front of him for a long time, suddenly feeling irritated and restless. He somehow dug out a cigarette, put it between his lips, lit it, and smoked in silence.
When the cigarette was only half left, he turned his head again to look at that villa. So what if Liam Coldwell was already calling her "wifey"? What could he do?
He’d thought about storming in to drag her away, and he’d also thought about what might be happening inside at this late hour when everything was quiet...
He’d thought that maybe the relationship between her and Liam Coldwell had already reached that level of intimacy.
"Wifey" — under what kind of circumstances can you even call someone that?
When he received that letter, he stared at it for ages, staring and staring until his hands were shaking and numb. For once, he didn’t blow up on the spot, not because he wasn’t angry.
There’s a thing called rage turning into its opposite. Maybe it was just that he... really had been pushed to his limit, so much so that he couldn’t even show it outright.
He was afraid that if he lost his temper he’d hurt her, so he just didn’t see her for a few days. He only drove back in those deep, lonely nights, secretly sneaking into her bedroom, holding her in his arms to sleep, then leaving when dawn was about to break.
Turns out her "disappearance" wasn’t a real disappearance at all, she’d just been with Liam Coldwell!
Lucas Knight sat there in a daze, the sharp, handsome lines of his face so cold it was like ice could drip from them. The cigarette in his hand burned all the way down and directly scorched his fingers.
He simply flipped his hand and crushed it in his palm.
One night passed, and from beginning to end he never saw that petite figure. Only when the sky in the east began to pale did Lucas Knight finally drive off!
Morning.
The maids in the luxury villa were in the kitchen making breakfast.
Liam Coldwell came downstairs in a bathrobe.
Seeing him come down, the maid greeted him politely, "Mr. President, you’re up so early!"
"You could actually sleep a bit more!"
No need to get up this early on vacation.
The maid thought he and Eva Bennett really were that kind of relationship; after all, Liam Coldwell called her "wifey," so it was hard for everyone not to overthink it.
"It’s fine. I’m going to take a walk in the garden." Liam Coldwell said, then walked out.
