Chapter 686 - 657: With Daddy Here
In early December, Sienna Thornton took her team to Valois, and Simon Forrester and little Victor went along as well.Initially, Sienna didn’t want them to come, but Simon, who had arranged a passport for the child months ago, argued that now that the child was older and more observant, he would feel insecure and suffer irreversible harm without his mother. He had countless reasons; he simply wanted to bring his son along with Sienna to Valois.
Sienna didn’t really want to be separated from her husband and son either. After consulting with her superiors and setting some ground rules with Simon, the family finally traveled together.
This time, she would spend five days on negotiations, and after they concluded, the couple planned to take Victor to the snow-capped mountains during the waiting week.
Little Victor was well-behaved; at sixteen months, he could walk very well but didn’t run around recklessly. He was a cautious child, always observing the environment before doing anything. His routine was normal, eating, drinking, and sleeping well; he was an angel of a baby, which is why Sienna agreed to take him to Valois with them.
On their first day in Valois, as soon as they got off the plane, Victor, seeing so many foreigners with different skin and hair colors for the first time, bounced excitedly in Simon’s arms, squealing in his childlike voice: "White, Black!"
The colleagues traveling with them didn’t understand and laughed, saying, "Baby, who are you saying goodbye to just after arriving?"
Sienna laughed, ruffling her son’s head with the knitted hat, and said, "He means they’re white and black people."
The colleagues were slightly surprised: "How old is the baby?"
"Sixteen months."
The colleagues immediately praised Victor for being less than a year and a half old and already able to distinguish race and color.
Sienna then chatted with them about what early education the nanny had been doing with Victor over the last year.
Some colleagues didn’t agree with teaching children so young, saying it wasn’t good for their development; others supported Sienna’s approach, saying they would also hire a nanny for early education if they had a second child.
Sienna didn’t argue with those who had different opinions, just smiled all the way. After all, these things are a matter of personal judgment.
When they got to the hotel, everyone was staying in standard single rooms at the company’s expense. Simon was dissatisfied that the room was too small, with no space for the child to play, and wanted to pay extra to upgrade to a presidential suite.
Sienna was concerned about the impression it might make and disagreed, but Simon said, "The room is too small, and the air is thin; it’ll affect the child’s development."
He had countless excuses, and Sienna couldn’t do anything about him, so she finally agreed.
The family of three moved into the large suite. Sienna did some light unpacking and then went to the meeting room to rehearse the next day’s negotiation with her colleagues.
She didn’t return to the room until it was late.
Without taking off her coat, she first went to check on her husband and son.
Victor was sweetly asleep in Simon’s arms, and Simon was leaning against the headboard, reading a book.
In the warm, cozy yellow light, his dark brown hair hung naturally over his forehead, wearing a white T-shirt, his face handsome and gentle, his lips slightly curved, looking deeply at her.
Simon’s looks—she could admire them for fifty years.
She hung up her coat and tiptoed over, giving her son a kiss on the cheek, whispering, "What time did our son go to sleep?"
"Nine-thirty."
She nodded, "An hour later than usual."
Simon indulgently glanced at their son and said with a smile, "It’s his first time sleeping outside; he was too excited."
Sienna kissed her son again, stood up, and said, "I’m going to take a shower."
Just as she turned around, Simon grabbed her arm.
She turned her head.
Simon looked at her intently: "You kissed our son but didn’t kiss me."
She laughed, turned back in resignation, cupping his face with both hands, and gave him a deep kiss.
He was satisfied: "Go take a shower; I’ll wait for you."
She thought he was going to tease her and pondered how to dodge him while showering, but upon finishing her shower, she lay on the bed, and he only tenderly massaged her shoulders and head.
Sienna lay on his lap, occasionally checking her phone, occasionally looking up at him: "With you disappearing for half a month this time, won’t your grandfather have objections?"
"I told him we were taking our son to the Swiss mountains for fun; he didn’t say anything."
Sienna laughed, reaching up to squeeze his cheek: "Who would have thought Simon Forrester, chairman of the Forrester Group, approaching forty, would have to use his son as a shield for a trip."
Simon pursed his lips, not very pleased.
"To achieve complete freedom, I’ll have to wait until the old folks go see the Lord."
Sienna hastily covered his mouth: "Phooey, phooey, phooey, don’t talk nonsense. They say having an elder at home is like having a treasure."
Simon took the opportunity to kiss her palm and laughed: "A treasure? The kind that limits your travel abroad and checks your attendance daily—is that the treasure you want?"
Sienna laughed till she cried: "No, no."
The two whispered softly, embracing each other, and fell asleep in each other’s warmth.
Life was so blissful.
...
Five days later, Sienna completed her negotiation work, rested for a night at the hotel, and on Saturday, the family of three went to The Alveran Mountains to have some fun.
People say that when in Switzerland, you must visit the snow-capped mountains; there’s no Switzerland without snow mountains.
Although Brimfield experiences snow every winter, and for a part of the season, there’s snow right at the doorstep of The Fenmore Villa, it’s still different from real snow-capped mountains.
Seeing the vast white snow, little Victor was overjoyed. Dressed in his baby snowsuit and snow boots, as soon as his dad put him down in the snow, he immediately bent down, scooped up two handfuls of snow, and ran over to his parents: "Papa, Mama, white!"
Sienna crouched down and pointed to the snow in his hands, teaching him: "Baby, this is—snow!"
Victor imitated in his baby voice: "Snow...snow..."
Sienna exaggerated her mouth movements for him: "White—snow!"
Victor immediately caught on: "White...snow...White snow!"
Simon laughed heartily and rolled a small snowball to throw at his son.
Victor got hit and shouted, "Papa bad!" Then he quickly crouched down and scooped up a handful of snow to throw at Simon.
Father and son started a snowball fight in the snow.
Sienna watched her husband and son in matching snowsuits, one big and one small, running and laughing together, feeling immense happiness.
At one point, a snowball from Simon accidentally hit her, and Victor immediately ran over, his little gloved hands comforting her knee: "Mama, hurt... Mama, don’t cry..."
Sienna took the opportunity to pretend she was hurt, squatting there and fake crying.
Victor’s eyes reddened too, and his small body hugged her: "Mama don’t cry, Kyle loves you!"
Seeing this, Simon hurried over, crouching down, spreading his arms to hug his wife and son, kissing Sienna’s hair and Victor’s round cheeks.
"Kyle, don’t cry; with Dad here, Dad will protect both Kyle and Mom."
Victor mimicked him, gently patting Sienna’s back: "Mama, don’t cry... Kyle’s here! Kyle protects Mama!"
