Chapter 403: Her Voice Carries a Seductive Sweetness
Chapter 403: Her Voice Carries a Seductive Sweetness
The attack was sudden and unexpected, a strong wind arose in the room.Zero was not one to be trifled with, quickly blocking the attack.
The two quickly tangled in a fight.
The baby, who was originally sleeping soundly, was awakened by the sounds of the fight, opening her eyes and gazing at the two strange adults with a puzzled expression.
She bit her own finger, with the Black Egg still lying beside her pillow.
The Black Egg seemed to sense she was awake and shifted closer to her.
The baby giggled as the egg drew near.
Her laugh caused the fierce fighting between the two to come to an abrupt halt.
Zero quickly stepped in front of the baby, shielding her behind him, and watched Aiers with a vigilant look.
Aiers, considering the baby had the aura of a little one, refrained from attacking further and also gazed at Aiers with caution.
The atmosphere suddenly became awkward and tense, neither moving nor speaking.
One Insect, one robot stood there, staring at each other.
The room was so quiet that only the sound of the baby biting her finger could be heard.
Perhaps because it was too quiet, the baby seemed to feel bored and waved her tiny hands, wanting Zero to hold her.
But Zero, with his back to her, completely missed her gesture for a hug.
The unsatisfied baby’s eyes began to fill with tears. A child is always sensitive, thinking that not being held meant they weren’t liked anymore, and with a pout, the tears finally couldn’t be stopped and poured out.
"Wah!"
The cry echoed through the room, startling Zero, who immediately turned around to pick up the baby and gently patted her back, soothing, "Don’t cry, don’t cry."
As soon as the baby’s cry sounded, Aiers instinctively stepped forward, wanting to hold the baby, but Zero got there first.
She could only lower her hands, watching as Zero comforted the baby.
Her gaze fixed on the baby, finding that the more she looked, the more familiar the baby’s appearance seemed.
Just like...
Like what? Aiers frowned, deep in thought.
A flash of inspiration crossed her mind.
Like a little one!
An extremely absurd idea suddenly popped into Aiers’ mind.
Was this baby before her actually the child of the little one?
Thinking of this, Aiers stepped forward abruptly, asking urgently, "Is this Su Ruan’s baby?"
Hearing the familiar name, Zero looked toward Aiers even more warily.
"You know Su Ruan?"
"I do!" Aiers’ eyes brightened, "I know the little one!"
The little one, of course, referred to Su Ruan.
A flicker of surprise passed through Zero’s eyes.
This Insect Race, called Su Ruan a little one?
Could it be that his previous judgment was wrong, and Su Ruan was not human but Insect Race?
But his detection system wouldn’t deceive him; Su Ruan was indeed human.
"Why do you call her a little one?" Zero asked with a hint of curiosity.
"Because she is a little one," Aiers said with an air of spontaneity.
Humans are truly peculiar, always wanting to know why.
A little one is just a little one; does it need a reason to be called a little one?
That’s why she didn’t like dealing with humans.
Zero, hearing this answer, said "Oh" and didn’t ask further.
The Insect Race was quite strange as well, unlike human beings; his data on the Insect Race was very sparse, so he temporarily didn’t understand what this Insect Race meant.
He continued to maintain his vigilance, saying cautiously, "If you’re looking for Su Ruan, she is in the next room."
"There’s nothing else I can tell you."
Aiers’ eyes sparkled at these words.
The little one was also on this starship!
She said nothing more, turning and leaving the room.
Seeing the little one would provide all the answers.
A few minutes later, the door to Su Ruan’s room was knocked upon.
Su Ruan was leaning against Lu Shinian, upon hearing the knock, she lifted her head drowsily, her voice soft as ever, "Brother Lu, who is it?"
Lu Shinian shook his head, lifting her onto the bed and shielding her behind him, he then said, "Come in."
The door opened from the outside, and Aiers’ figure appeared in the doorway.
Su Ruan peeked out from behind Lu Shinian, seeing Aiers.
She blinked, taking a couple of seconds to react.
"Aiers~"
With a tone of coquettishness.
Aiers took a step forward, excitement in her voice as she called out, "Little one!"
Su Ruan blushed, her voice soft, "I’ve had a baby now, you can’t call me little one anymore."
Aiers paused, "Had a baby?"
So the baby she just saw was indeed the little one’s child?
"I saw the baby just now!" Aiers said happily, "Looks just like you, little one."
"So cute, I could tell at a glance that it’s your baby."
Aiers spoke barefaced lies, completely forgetting moments ago she perceived the baby with "suspicion."
Su Ruan’s face turned even redder from the compliment.
She tilted her head, leaning forward, wanting to get closer to Aiers.
In doing so, most of her body dangled outside of the bed, and she was about to fall when Lu Shinian, who sat beside her, pulled her back into his arms.
"Ruan Ruan, don’t move around," Lu Shinian said in a soft voice.
Su Ruan nodded blankly, glancing at Lu Shinian, then over to Aiers, slowly curling back into Lu Shinian’s embrace.
Aiers stared at Su Ruan for a few seconds, then spoke in astonishment, "Your special period has come, little one."
No wonder she sensed something odd upon entering.
"Do you need to find a male Insect?" Aiers asked, showing concern.
Lu Shinian: ...
"There’s no need." He promptly answered on Su Ruan’s behalf.
"I’m here."
Aiers slowly realized that in human relationships, it seemed only a husband and wife could engage in such activities.
This Lu Shinian, he was the little one’s husband, and he alone could mate with his little one.
The rules of humans are indeed troublesome. Aiers thought to herself, considerately nodding, "I understand."
"How many days has your special period lasted, little one?"
"How many days do I need to wait outside for you?"
"Oh, by the way, there’s unrest in the Insect Domain now, you should stay here and not go out, little one."
"Archi and the others will be arriving here soon, nothing will happen, rest assured."
Although Su Ruan’s mind wasn’t entirely lucid, she barely caught some key words.
"Unrest?" She blinked, her delicate face carrying a hint of curiosity, asking softly, "What kind of unrest?"
Probably due to the special period, even her voice carried a bit of a coquettish appeal.
Despite being female, Aiers couldn’t help her face turning slightly red.
"It’s just that some low-level Insect Clan members suddenly defied our High-level Insect Race orders and are preparing to awaken."
She explained with a flushed face.
"But rest assured, we have suppressed it."
Though only temporarily.
There’s no need to speak of this to worry the little one, right?
